The importance of reading

We often overlook the very important aspect of reading. Reading should begin as soon as a child develops an interest in handling, viewing, examining books. Very easy picture books at first, then books with large letters and on and on and soon, your child will be well on the way to a great education.

Oh, I know, there are educators who tell you to discourage reading at an early age, but the fact is, many very successful people in life did start long before the first day of school. Usually, these students do very well in school regardless of the pace.

I have been an educator and retired from the teaching profession. It is my position, from my educated standpoint that reading is essential and there is no harm in reading as early as an interest is established.

Reading can not only be a useful tool for education, but it is also a very pleasant and enjoyable pastime. Reading is recreational, informative, educational, and social. Reading will bring many new ideas and thoughts into the storehouse of the mind to be used over and over again.

Good Luck and please leave me a post on my new blog.
